The IESO recently announced that the Enabling Capacity Exports initiative is moving forward with implementation having begun on November 14, 2018. Capacity Exports allow Ontario generators with capacity not required for Ontario’s reliability requirements to earn revenue by exporting the capacity to other jurisdictions.
All applicable market manuals have been updated and posted on the Pending Changes page. A guide, outlining the process for submitting a capacity export request in Online IESO will be posted on the training page and engagement page before implementation on November 14.
