The IESO is undertaking engagement initiatives on a number of the its planning processes to inform and seek feedback from stakeholders and communities. There are several opportunities noted below for market participants to learn more about the initiatives and to provide feedback. A window for written submissions will be opened for each of the individual engagements for a three week period, starting on the date of the respective webinar. 1) Transmission Assets End-of-Life: Asset Replacement Information Process
The IESO will be seeking feedback from stakeholders on a draft process for collecting information on asset end-of-life, or expected service life from transmission asset owners. The draft process will also identify a set of criteria for determining if an asset replacement need may benefit from consideration in bulk or regional planning processes. 2) Customer Reliability Review
The IESO is planning to review and report on the technical criteria used to assess customer reliability as delivered by the IESO-controlled grid. Feedback will be sought on the customer experience of reliability as well as draft alternatives and recommendations as the engagement progresses. 3) Formalizing the Integrated Bulk System Planning Process
Feedback will be sought on the design of a formal integrated bulk system planning process, including how the bulk planning process is expected to evolve to respond to changes in electricity planning and the role communities and stakeholders will have in the planning process. 4) Regional Planning Process Review
The IESO is seeking feedback from communities and stakeholders to consider lessons learned and findings from other regional planning development initiatives, such as pilots and studies, to improve the process for future cycles. This initiative is underway with the establishment of a Regional Planning Process Advisory Group who will perform an advisory role to support and assist the process review.
