Guelph, Ontario: Canadian Solar Inc. announced June 14 that it would be introducing the global launch of its next generation solar modules at Intersolar Europe the following week in Munich, Germany. The new offering will inaugurate BiKu, HiKu and HiDM modules during an exclusive event.
Canadian Solar's poly bifacial BiKu module claims up to 365 W power output on the front side and 75% bifaciality. According to the company’s claims, it can increase energy yield by up to 30% with backside contributions under certain albedo, thus lowering LCOE dramatically.
HiKu poly modules are developed specially for the utility market with power output exceeding 400 W. They can reduce EPC cost of solar projects in terms of lower Balance of System and installation costs.
The HiDM (High-Density Module) is the shingle-type of module with Canadian Solar's IP-granted design features, to enhance module power density with module efficiency reaching up to 20.2%. The power output of a 60-cell mono HiDM module can reach 335 MW, about 10% higher than a standard full cell mono PERC module.
