Ottawa: Bullfrog Power and Beau’s Brewing Co., based in Vankleek Hill, Ontario, announced October 11 the launch of a 10 kW solar energy project, developed in partnership with Just Food, an organization working toward “just and sustainable” food and farming systems in the Ottawa region.
“Bullfrog Power and Beau’s took an early interest in Just Food’s community farm when they committed to helping us develop our own solar project,” said Moe Garahan, Executive Director, Just Food.
Together, Bullfrog Power and Beau’s helped to finance the solar installation and assist Just Food in its goal to educate on and promote sustainable agriculture in Eastern Ontario.
“I believe that beer tastes better when you feel good about drinking it. I’m proud that our independent, employee owned brewery is able to support Just Food, an amazing, dynamic and important organization in our local community,” said Steve Beauchesne, CEO of Beau’s Brewing Co.
“Beau’s is a true game changer, being one of the first companies in Canada to directly address their energy-related emissions footprint with all three of Bullfrog Power’s green energy offerings: green electricity, green natural gas and green fuel,” said Ron Seftel, CEO, Bullfrog Power. “We’re excited to be a part of this unique collaboration, where an innovative local business that champions green energy is also helping a local non-profit develop their own new renewable energy generation.”
