The Six Nations Band Council and the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation have negotiated a tentative agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Hydro One that would see the mothballed Niagara Reinforcement Line proceed. Soon afterward, it was revealed that efforts to strengthen the electrical ties between Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and the Lower Peninsula, as well as to Ontario, have suffered a setback after a state study revealed construction costs outweigh any benefit.
