Montreal: In conjunction with Global Wind Day, Boralex Inc., ENERCON and the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation celebrated the inauguration June 15 of the Niagara Region Wind Farm in the presence of Michael Weidemann, Executive Vice-President of ENERCON Canada, Matt Jamieson, President and CEO of the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation, and Patrick Lemaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Boralex.

The wind farm, which is located on private land in the Regional Municipality of Niagara in Ontario, was commissioned on November 2, 2016 and consists of 77 ENERCON E 101 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 230 MW. The project has a 20-year power purchase agreement with Ontario's Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) and will power the equivalent of more than 76,000 homes per year throughout its operating life.
