Robert Sinclair, the IESO’s Manager of Generation Procurement Operations recently provided an update on both the FIT and microFIT programs. The presentation discussed status of the programs, including lessons learned from the FIT 4 procurement and future enhancements for both FIT and microFIT. Some of the microFIT enhancements discussed in this presentation include:
• new price for rooftop solar projects ≤ 6kW
• allowance for in-series metering if permitted by the local distribution company
• requirement to connect within 180 days of receiving Application Approval Notice
• contract payment suspension in situations where a microFIT contract is in breach
• requirement for a commissioned or notarized declaration form from all applicants
