The IESO released final program documents for the Energy from Waste (EFW) Standard Offer Program on December 11 and opened the program to applications on December 14. This program is in support of new-build, municipal EFW projects in Ontario, with 75 megawatts of contracting capacity being made available for eligible projects. The standard nominal contract price will be eight cents per kilowatt-hour.
The program was enabled by a directive from the Minister on April 22, 2015.
