Bruce Power receives Platts award

 

A week after announcing a long-term agreement to secure 6,300 megawatts of electricity through a multi-year investment program, Bruce Power was honored with the Platts Global Energy Award for Industry Leadership in the power sector at an event in New York City.

          Established in 1999 the Platts Global Energy Awards highlight corporate and individual innovation, leadership and superior performance in 17 categories that span the entire energy complex. Finalists were chosen for the Global Energy Awards from more than 200 nominations in over three dozen countries representing 4 continents, including some of the world’s leading energy giants in both conventional and alternative energy. Judges based their decision on the “successful development and implementation of a strategic plan that optimizes performance and growth while taking an aggressive, proactive approach toward a radically altered business and trading environment.”

          Earlier this year, Bruce Power received the highest marks in its 14 year history in the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission’s annual safety grading of Canada’s nuclear plants. In 2014 Bruce Power was  awarded the Institute of Nuclear Power Operators (INPO) award of excellence in recognition of its world-class performance.
