Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) recently announced that it was accepting nominations for a new 2015 Woman of the Year Award, one of three WiRE Women of Distinction Award categories in 2015. The WiRE Woman of the Year Award will recognize a Canadian woman in the renewable energy sector who has “served the industry with distinction, gone above and beyond the call of duty, and contributed significantly to the expansion and improvement of the power sector.” The WiRE Award will be presented by WiRE Founders and Co-Chairs Joanna Osawe and Rebecca Black on November 17 as part of the 27th annual Canadian Power Banquet, during the Canadian Power Conference.
WiRE, in concert with APPrO is inviting all members of the power industry to suggest candidates to receive this year's inaugural Award. APPrO Executive Director Jake Brooks encourages members of the industry to bring forward the names of any deserving candidates before the October 1 deadline.
