The Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA) announced on November 4 that the deadline for nominations to its Powering Prosperity Awards would be extended to November 21. Members of the power industry may nominate deserving individuals for public recognition at a gala event planned for January 29.

The Powering Prosperity Awards highlight “excellence, innovation and best practices in the sustainable energy sector, shining the spotlight on champions whose ideas and actions are advancing Ontario's prosperity and our transition to a more sustainable energy economy,” OSEA explains.

Awards will be presented in several categories:

Developer of the year

Manufacturer of the year

“Smartpreneur” of the year

20/20 Leadership award.

Any person, organization or group of people who is or has been involved in a sustainable energy initiative in the province of Ontario relating to the category being nominated for is eligible to be nominated. Nominations can be made by anyone who resides or does business in the province of Ontario. The Powering Prosperity Awards committee will select winners from among the nominees based on the criteria outlined in the award category descriptions and rules.

The awards will be presented on January 29, 2015 during OSEA's annual Powering Prosperity Awards dinner at La Primavera Banquet Hall in Vaughan.
