As part of the Ontario government’s ongoing efforts to encourage participation in the planning process and to increase the openness of government operations, the Minister of Energy has invited comments on what additional kinds of data should be posted with respect to Ontario’s electricity system.
In a recent letter sent to many members of the IESO Stakeholder Advisory Committee, Minister Bob Chiarelli said, “I would like to invite you to provide ideas and feedback on whether the list on the site is comprehensive or whether additional reports would be useful to include in Ontario energy reporting.” Minister Chiarelli noted that six modules that include the data underlying the LTEP have been posted on the OPA, IESO and Ministry of Energy websites. He observed that, “Additional information to support Ontario energy reporting is under consideration. We are including forecast and data on: Demand, supply, conservation, costs, emission, transmission/distribution and overall system reports, such as the IESO’s market summaries.”
The IESO notes that there are three new IESO data sets under development:
• Historical output by generator and fuel type
• Wind dispatch
• Nuclear manoeuvres and shutdowns
In conjunction with the OPA and the OEB, the IESO will be developing:
• a series of actual vs. forecast data sets
• embedded generation output
• GA breakdown by entity and customer class
• cost of generation by entity.
