Community power: Types of eligible applicants under FIT 2.0

 

• Individuals, including farmers.

• Co-operatives (farm coops and renewable energy coops) formally structured under Ontario’s Co-operative Corporations Act, as reviewed by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. The Act, originally requiring coops to conduct most of their business among members, had to be revised to allow energy coops to sell to the grid.

• LDCs.

• Aboriginal communities

• The MUSH sector (universities, schools, hospitals, municipalities, long-term care homes, social and affordable housing

• Faith-based organizations,

• Wherever there is local ownership and control.

• But not businesses.
