Ottawa: Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli officially opened Moose Creek Energy’s new 4.2 megawatt landfill gas-to-energy plant, located at the Laflèche Environmental Inc. facility in Moose Creek, Ontario on June 7.
Moose Creek Energy L.P. is a partnership between Energy Ottawa Inc. and Integrated Gas Recovery Services Inc. (IGRS).
The Moose Creek Energy facility is Energy Ottawa’s second joint venture with IGRS, who together also own and operate the Trail Road landfill gas-to-energy plant in the City of Ottawa.
Energy Ottawa Inc., a subsidiary of Hydro Ottawa, is the largest municipally-owned producer of green power in Ontario. Energy Ottawa’s generation facilities include hydroelectric stations at Chaudière Falls, two landfill gas generating facilities and solar installations. IGRS is a partnership between Comcor Environmental Limited, a landfill gas engineering and consulting firm, and Walker Environmental Group.
