Toronto: The Ontario Ministry of Environment has given the go-ahead to 57 renewable energy projects, nearly half of those who have so far applied for a Renewable Energy Approval (REA), the integrated environmental approval system created to accompany the provincial FIT program.
According to data published by the Ministry of the Environment at the end of June, it had received a total of 123 applications for REAs. Of those, 57 had been approved. A summary is shown below.

Approved: 57
Received and being screened for completeness: 13
Under technical review: 27
Applications Returned: 26 (5 of which have not yet been re-submitted)
