Kim Warren appointed as IESO’s new Chief Operating Officer

Toronto: On May 12, the IESO announced the appointment of Kim Warren as its Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Warren is replacing Ken Kozlik who is retiring after more than 33 years in the electricity industry. Kim’s extensive operating experience began in 1978 with Ontario Hydro. He later became Manager of Shift Operations in 2000, where he directed control room activities during market opening and through the restoration of power across Ontario during the 2003 blackout. Kim became Director of Planning & Assessment in 2008. His appointment was effective May 16.

            Ken has been with the IESO since its inception, serving first as Director, Client Support before moving on to become Director of Market Evolution. Ken was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2007. Well-regarded and respected, Ken has been a strong voice championing the interests of market participants. His enthusiasm, his leadership and his wisdom will be missed.
