Three groups in Alberta announced January 2017 that they had joined forces to form the new Alberta Electrical Association – the Alberta Electrical League (AEL), Calgary Electric Club (CEC) and the Capital Region Electric Club (CREC), allowing all three groups to offer their members more for one membership fee. Each group individually offered networking and a range of events.
