SDTC changes application process, accepts projects year-round

Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has announced changes to the foundation’s funding model and application process. Effective July 20, SDTC said it would discontinue its regularly scheduled calls for applications in favour of a continuous intake model – applicants will now be able to submit their initial request for funding at any time 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day, via www.sdtc.ca.

Additionally, SDTC has revamped the funding application process, introducing a shorter, more interactive process for prospective fundees that includes a presentation via video conference that provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to pitch their development and demonstration projects to SDTC’s team of experts. “Since SDTC was created 15 years ago, the fast moving clean tech ecosystem has changed drastically. We feel that this is a great time for our organization to focus on what is best for entrepreneurs – these changes are being made with them in mind,” said Leah Lawrence, SDTC president and CEO.

The changes to the funding model will allow applicants to find out sooner if they will be invited to proceed to the next phase of the process, which includes an in-depth proposal by the applicant, and site visits from SDTC experts.

To apply, visit www.sdtc.ca or contact a Funding Advisor (613-234-6313) to initiate the funding process prior to the completion of an application.
